INFUSE Workshop at PPPL

Our team Stephanie Thomas, Vice President of Princeton Satellite Systems (PSS), Christopher Galea, Research Scientist and myself Sangeeta P. Vinoth attended the INFUSE in-person Workshop held on Feb 27th and Feb 28th 2024 at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL).

The INFUSE workshop focused on the opportunities for networking during the poster sessions. During the poster sessions, there were various National Laboratories, Universities and private companies that shared their work and facilites that would help the program and each one of them to identify the areas of growth supporting the commercial fusion enterprise.

At times A. Lumsdaine as a host used to crack some jokes that made us smile and have some fun element during the INFUSE workshop. It was informative to know more about the CRADA contract process and GAIN program that INFUSE is modeled on. The Workshop also offered a tour of PPPL which was really fun as I have been part of PPPL, and yet was not aware of histories behind NSTX and different Stellarators that are at PPPL.

Last but not least everyone also toured the Princeton Field Reversed Configuration! Dr. Cohen explained our goal of small, clean, portable fusion reactors to all the groups and they got to see the PFRC-2 in action running with neon RMF pulses.
